Bei den Lwalwa, früher auch als Bena Lulua bekannt, kennt man Masken kaum, und wo sie bekannt sind, werden kurze Definitionen gegeben, wie sie gebraucht werden, zum Beispiel bei der Beschneidung kleiner Jungen oder bei anderen Übergangsriten. Dieser Mangel an Angaben ist darauf zurückzuführen, dass bei den Lulua einfach nur wenige Masken erfasst wurden. Diese Maske wird aufgrund der gemeinsamen Details von Gesichtszeichnung und Frisur sowie der Form von Gesicht und Haaren als Teil des Lulua-Komplexes von Menschen identifiziert.
