Description

Original Thonet armchair, model No. 77, also popularly known as “Long John” due to its exceptionally high backrest.

The design dates back to the early 20th century (Jugendstil/Art Nouveau period), but this particular piece is a later production from the 1950s, recognizable by the use of cross-head screws.

A striking mid-century design classic, showcasing Thonet’s pioneering bentwood technique at its finest.
