Ancient Roman Bronze Ring Pendant / Bead Circa 1st – 3rd century AD A heavy circular bronze bead or pendant with smooth surfaces and a wide central perforation. The piece is finely cast and shows a beautiful dark green patina from age. Its compact form and weight suggest it may have served as an amulet or decorative bead, worn on a necklace or sewn onto clothing or equipment. Circular pendants of this type symbolised eternity and were often carried in the Roman world as protective charms. Material: Bronze Dimensions: approx. 2.4 cm Weight: approx. 15 g Condition: Good condition with natural patina. Minor wear consistent with age. Provenance: Private European collection, acquired in the 1990s. A heavy circular bronze bead or pendant with smooth surfaces and a wide central perforation. The piece is finely cast and shows a beautiful dark green patina from age. Its compact form and weight suggest it may have served as an amulet or decorative bead, worn on a necklace or sewn onto clothing or equipment.
