Brievenweegschaal + eierweegschaal Philipp Jakob Maul.

De eierweegschaal is van het merk P J Maul, model concav. Dit staat vermeld op de weegschaal.
Concav is afgeleid van het Latijnse concave wat hol betekent.
Dit verwijst uiteraard naar de vorm van de schaalverdeling.
Weegt tot 100 gram. Dateert van de periode 1912  -  1930.
Destijds (begin 20 ° eeuw)  werden eieren per gewicht verkocht.

De brievenweegschaal is eveneens van het merk P J  Maul, model concav. Dit staat vermeld op de weegschaal, op de schaalverdeling evenals het logo van Maul, de 'M' in een stervorm. Dit staat eveneens op de achterzijde, meegegoten in het gietijzer. Weegbereik van 50 gram, de tweede schaal tot 250 gram. 
Werd gebruikt voor het wegen van poststukken. Dateert van de periode 1912  -  1930.

Sfeervolle en zeer decoratieve stukken, gemaakt in Duitsland, Hamburg.

P J Maul richt zijn bedrijf op in 1912 en legt zich toe op allerlei kantoorbenodigdheden waaronder de weegschalen. Gedurende de eerste wereldoorlog lag de productie quasi stil omdat al het personeel opgeroepen werd naar het leger. Na de oorlog werd geleidelijk aan opnieuw opgestart met groeiend succes.
In 1953 sterft P J Maul, de schoonzoon, Fritz Scharmann, een ingenieur, neemt het bedrijf over.
Het bedrijf groeit verder en bestaat op heden nog steeds.

Het bedrijf is thans wereldwijd marktleider op het gebied van elektronische zonneweegschalen, die onder de merknaam "Maul" worden verkocht.

Beide weegschalen hier aangeboden werken nog perfect, ze vertonen uiteraard gebruikssporen, eigen aan de ouderdom.

Worden uiterst verzorgd verpakt en  verstuurd met track en trace.
