MiLo - Quantum Phase Mapping - XXL

“Quantum Phase Mapping” (2025) – A large abstract acrylic painting on cotton canvas. Fine black lines cut across layers of white and pale grey, forming shifting grids and coordinates that seem to measure invisible forces. The surface, marked by erasures and subtle textures, recalls diagrams, maps, or traces of resonance fields — yet resists a single interpretation. The work explores the idea of mapping phases and thresholds, where structure and chance overlap, creating an image that is both scientific and poetic. The painting will be shipped rolled in a sturdy tube for safe international delivery. It can be easily stretched and framed at any professional framing shop (frames are not included). The work can be hung in any direction, depending on the viewer’s preference. A signed certificate of authenticity is included. ⸻ About the artist MiLo (1976) is an Amsterdam-based artist with a background in photography and art studies. Over the years he has sold more than 800 original works, which now reside in private collections, hotels, restaurants, and offices across Europe, the United States, Hong Kong, and Taiwan. His practice spans from early Pollock-inspired action paintings to precise geometric compositions, and to the layered, scratched surfaces he often explores today. In his current work, MiLo investigates the tension between construction and erosion, layering and scratching the painted surface until traces emerge. These may recall urban landscapes, geological strata, or cosmic maps — yet the imagery is never fixed. Each canvas evolves through process and chance, allowing multiple interpretations to surface beyond any single theme. Each work forms part of an ongoing exploration of abstraction, memory, and transformation, making MiLo one of the most prolific and recognizable contemporary artists on Catawiki.
