Leo Jordaens is een Belgische kunstenaar die geboren is in 1944 te Merksem en die overleden is in 2000 te Antwerpen. Hij was een kunstschilder. Zoon en leerling van Leon Jordaens; ontwikkelde zich vervolgens autodidactisch. Schilderde o.m. landschappen, strandgezichten met sloepen, marines, stillevens met bloemen. Zijn werken worden gekenmerkt door expressieve wolkenmassa’s en een opvallend licht- en kleurspel. Uit de pers: ‘L.J. is een geboren colorist. Hij houdt van cadmiums, maar werkt slechts in een drietal tonen – bijvoorbeeld rood, geel en blauw – die het schilderij helemaal opbouwen (…) In zijn werk leeft de natuur, de open ruimte. Mensen heeft hij eruit geëlimineerd. Je ziet gewas, bomen (vooral knotwilgen), hooioppers, hoeven die zich spiegelen, schepen, een rivierbocht, de skyline van de stad, de rede, de activiteit in de haven, de industrie en de wintersfeer voor je ogen voorbijschuiven.
