In this work, two souls meet and merge under the energy of the sun. The work captures the moment when the bodies dissolve and only the essential connection remains — the invisible exchange between desire, emotion, and light. Series: The Game of Souls I paint bodies that dream, touch, and merge in dreamlike and carnal scenes, where the human and the animal coexist in symbolic, sensual, and chaotic landscapes. My practice focuses on large-scale figurative painting, primarily in acrylic on canvas, using a vibrant and saturated palette inspired by German Expressionism, Latin American muralism, Goya and Gauguin. Technically, I emphasize the expressive use of flat color, strong contours, and the balance between chaos and visual harmony. I work with free gestures and visual memory, painting without preliminary sketches, composing as I go, allowing forms to build, overlap, and contradict each other. My works unfold as open narratives: fragmented stories that intertwine personal experiences, cultural references, and mythological or fetishistic elements. The figures I paint—often grotesque, exaggerated, or caricature-like—challenge traditional standards of beauty and anatomy, generating tensions between the sacred and the profane, the sensual and the violent, the tragic and the absurd. I paint as someone who simultaneously remembers and forgets. Each image is a metaphor for the human condition, a visual diary where eroticism, tenderness, death, sacred art, and surrealism converge. My paintings don't seek to provide answers; they pose questions, provoke contradictions, and confront the viewer with their own gaze. Color, the body, and emotion are the primary vehicles of this experience. I paint to narrate, but also to allow the viewer to complete the story from their own perception. Biography: Miriam CHiera is an Italian-Argentine contemporary artist based in Senigallia, Italy. She studied Interior Design at the Faculty of Architecture of the Universidad Nacional del Litoral, Argentina, and also studied art at the Verona Academy of Art, Italy. She was born in a small town in Argentina, surrounded by vast expanses of countryside, to a family of Italian immigrant farmers. Although her roots are steeped in Italian culture, her art carries the spirit of the land where she grew up. Small marks and symbols are scattered across her canvases, interweaving cubism, constructivism and abstract geometry with the essence of her work: the language of color. Surrounded by the immensity of nature, with infinite horizons and a deep sense of freedom, she found inspiration in large-scale creations. Although she studied Interior Design at the Universidad Nacional del Litoral, her path to painting began in her early years, it was during her residency in the city of Romeo and Juliet, where she studied at the Accademia di Arte in Verona, when she realized that painting was her true calling.
