Contemporary printmaker - Cat and Orchids

I bought this print in Japan. Unfortunately I can't find out who the artist is and from which Country. A finely executed hand-colored etching showing a Siamese cat seated gracefully in front of a potted orchid. The work combines delicate line etching with subtle hand-applied coloring, highlighting the cat's blue eyes and the blossoms in soft tones. Printed on wove paper, this impression is an Artist Proof, outside the numbered edition. Signed by the artist in pencil in the lower margin, and titled Cat and Orchids. Artist: Contemporary printmaker (signed, indecipherable signature) Title: Cat and Orchids Medium: Hand-colored etching (intaglio) on wove paper Edition: Artist Proof (A.P.) Signature/Markings: Pencil signed and titled in the lower margin Date: circa late 20th century (exact date unknown) Size within the margin: 150 x 225 mm Full paper size: 285 x 385 mm This work, with its refined detail and intimate subject, reflects the long tradition of feline portraiture in modern printmaking and is especially appealing to collectors of cat-themed art.
