Sytske Feitsma (b. 1940) – Ceramic High-Relief Wall Sculpture – 1989 – No Reserve 

A captivating high-relief ceramic artwork by renowned Dutch visual artist Sytske Feitsma, created in 1989 and signed on the back. 

Executed in Feitsma’s characteristic figurative-abstract style, this piece portrays a serene human face emerging from a richly textured and nature-inspired background — an intricate interplay of leaves, spirals, and organic forms. The artist’s glazing technique, combining soft green, turquoise, and cream tones, gives the work remarkable depth and luminosity.

Feitsma (Academie Minerva Groningen / Nationaal Hoger Instituut Antwerpen) has been active since 1965 and is celebrated for her ceramic reliefs, tile panels, and applied art commissions throughout the Netherlands, including works for public spaces such as the Pieterpad and Domies Toen in Pieterburen. This piece exemplifies her poetic approach, where nature and humanity meet in a timeless dialogue.
