Liénard F., Paris – Late 19th Century Description: Elegant French Rococo Revival mantel clock with matching display base, crafted in the late 19th century. The case features a vibrant red faux tortoiseshell veneer, richly decorated with finely cast gilt bronze (ormolu) mounts in the form of scrolling acanthus leaves, rocaille details, and corner busts. The clock rests on a separate, matching veneered base with gilt bronze trim and feet, enhancing its presence and elegance. The white enamel dial is signed A. Liénard F. (Paris), with Roman numerals for the hours and Arabic numerals for the minutes. It is fitted with finely worked gilt brass hands. The movement is of typical French quality, stamped “Made in France” and numbered “2104,” with a pendulum and bell strike mechanism that chimes the hours and half hours.
