A LONGQUAN CELADON FOLIATE-RIMMED DISH,

The dish is finely potted with a broad, shallow body and a lobed rim resembling lotus petals. The well-proportioned form is covered with a lustrous celadon glaze of soft green tone, pooling to deeper hues within the incised floral scrolls. The exterior is decorated with vertical flutings accentuating the lotus-like form. The base remains unglazed, revealing the reddish-buff body with concentric wheel marks and typical firing flaws characteristic of early 15th century Longquan ware.

Such dishes were likely produced within the imperial tribute system during the Yongle and Xuande reigns, exemplifying the refined quality of celadon wares made at the Longquan kilns in Zhejiang province. Closely related examples are preserved in the Palace Museum, Beijing, and the British Museum.

Diameter: 26 cm

Condition: Minor firing imperfections and age-related wear with rim fritting; no visible restoration.
