Jack Leslie Fairhurst (1905-1989), Attributed to - Study of a female nude

I am offering for auction a superb, mid 20th century oil on canvas study of a nude female, attributed to listed artist Jack Leslie Fairhurst, 1905-1989. Signed with initials verso. The painting measures 73 x 48.5 cm. The frame measures 78 x 53 cm. Condition of the painting is good. Please view all photos for accurate condition. Ready to hang. Jack Leslie Fairhurst was born at Nunhead, Southwark, London on 1 April 1905, son of Enoch Fairhurst (1 May 1874-1945), an artist illustrator, and his wife Adeline née Perry (1874-4 December 1948). He studied at Camberwell School of Arts & Crafts 1919-1923, under Albert Rutherston (1881-1953), and then at the Royal College of Art, under William Rothenstein (1872-1945) and Randolph Schwab (1885-1945). He held several teaching posts 1941-1957 and was a member of the Ridley Art Club, the South London Art Group, the Richmond Art Group, and the Society of Fulham Artists also exhibiting at the Royal Academy and the Royal Society of Portrait Painters. Please note. Due to the fragile nature of old frames and glass, our shippers do not provide insurance for any damage caused during transit. We go to great lengths to ensure each painting is packed and protected to a very high standard but sadly cannot compensate or refund for any damage occurring to frames or glass during transit. Therefore the frame and any glass is a gift to you with zero value and you are bidding on the artwork only. Due to Brexit, there are delays at EU customs borders though the situation is improving. Please do not blame me for delays or any customs duty payable. I really appreciate your understanding and patience. Steve.
