This Pentax SMC Super Multi-Coated Takumar 35mm f/2 is a masterpiece from Japan’s golden age of optical engineering.
Produced by Asahi Optical Co. in the early 1970s, it represents the legendary Takumar era — when lens coating and optical design reached their peak.

This particular copy shows a slight natural yellow tint, a well-known characteristic of early Takumar lenses using thorium glass elements.
This subtle warm tone gives images a beautiful vintage character and soft golden hue, especially pleasing for portrait and film photography.
(It can also be cleared with UV light exposure if preferred, but many collectors enjoy the original tone.)

The “SMC” multi-coating provides excellent contrast and resistance to flare, while the all-metal construction and silky-smooth focusing ring reflect the precision of Japanese craftsmanship.

Condition is Near Mint – optics clean with no haze, no fungus, and only the natural yellow tint as described.
Aperture blades are clean and snappy, and focus is smooth throughout the range.

Comes with front and rear caps, and has been carefully inspected before listing.
