INFO HÄKKI is a multidisciplinary artist and the founder of CIRKL collective, an innovative platform that fosters collaboration across creative disciplines. With a formal background in graphic design, photography, and painting, his work bridges fine art and street culture, informed by a practice that has been actively rooted in the streets since 2009. His works demonstrate a dynamic and expressive convergence of neo-expressionist energy, street art aesthetics, and contemporary figuration. The visual impact is immediately raw, visceral, and emotionally charged, while evoking a lineage that includes the likes of Pablo Picasso, Jean-Michel Basquiat, George Condo, Rose Wylie, Armand Boua, Eddie Martinez, and elements reminiscent of Henri Matisse’s bold use of color and form. The figures are rendered in a way that feels both childlike and confrontational. The exaggerated forms, flattened perspective, and masked faces call to mind coded symbologies and the use of anatomical distortion as a critique of identity, power, and race. The masks in particular may hint at themes of anonymity, surveillance, or resistance, suggesting a subcultural commentary that aligns with HÄKKI known engagement with street-level expression since 2009. The gestural brushstrokes, layering of texture, and fragmented spatial relationships reflect painterly physicality. There is a deliberate tension between chaos and composition: while the surface teems with scribbles, drips, and raw outlines, the visual structure remains grounded, even rhythmic on a very thin balance of abstraction and formality. The use of stripes, patterning, and color blocking nods toward decorative and abstract tendencies. There’s a softness in the choice of palette with pinks, corals, beiges that often contrast sharply with the aggressive mark-making, evoking both vulnerability and resistance. Culturally, it sits at the intersection of contemporary urban art and postmodern figuration. It draws from the graffiti and hip-hop visual culture of the late 20th century, while embracing the autobiographical urgency found in outsider art and art brut traditions. The presence of bicycles, disembodied limbs, and stylized eyes could be interpreted as metaphors for movement, escape, or fragmented identity, ideas often explored in the works of street-based artists reclaiming public space as canvas and voice. In the broader context of HÄKKI oeuvre and the ethos of CIRKL, it functions not only as a standalone statement but as part of an evolving narrative, an act of visual resistance, a portrait of collective memory, and an invitation to see beauty in the broken.
