"Nakaji" is a photo book by Japanese photographer Daido Moriyama. Inheriting the lineage of photographers Shomei Tomatsu and Hideko Hosoe, who represent postwar Japan, he has been active as a freelancer since the late 1960s, and has released conceptual works as a member of "Provoke", which includes Takuma Nakahira and Yutaka Takanashi. Daido Moriyama has left behind masterpieces that will be passed down through generations, including ``The Movie Photo Book'' and ``Photo Goodbye,'' and has established himself as one of the most popular Japanese photographers in the world, along with Nobuyoshi Araki and others. This book is a retitled version of ``Journey to Nakaji'' (1987), ``Water Dream'' (1999), and ``Takuno'' (2005), which were published by Sokyusha as homage photo books to the photographer Nakaji Yasui, whom Moriyama admires. This is a newly bound book with a new binding and format. Nakaji Yasui is a member of the Tanpei Photo Club, which was active in prewar Kansai, and is a legendary photographer who excels in free, avant-garde, and humanistic photographic expression. ``Nakaji's photographs are the roots of Japanese photography, and he is the father of Japanese photography,'' Moriyama says, ``He is the father of Japanese photography.'' This is a journey through the images of Moriyama, a man he admires and admires. It is tranquil, yet free, and rich in experimental depictions.
