Beautiful antique Swiss silver pocket watch, manufactured by U.M.&F (Usine Manufacture & Fils) around the late 1800s to early 1900s.
This elegant timepiece showcases fine Swiss craftsmanship, both in its detailed silver case and precision mechanical movement.
The pocket watch features:
A solid silver case with clear hallmarks: “ARGENT 0.800” indicating 80% fine silver, and the maker’s mark U.M.&F.
The serial number 74776, matching across the case, confirming its originality.
A stunningly engine-turned back cover engraved with an ornate shield and monogram “D”.
A white enamel dial with black 24-hour numerals, a sub-seconds dial at 6 o’clock, and decorative gilt Louis XV-style hands.
The mechanical movement is beautifully crafted, with gilt bridges and visible gearwork, marked “Avance – Retard” for regulation (indicating Swiss origin). The movement runs on jewels, visible through the precision-cut brass plates.
