Peter Nürnberg ist ein renommierter deutscher Fotograf, der seit den späten 1950er Jahren mit seiner Kamera bedeutende Persönlichkeiten der Kultur- und Filmwelt porträtiert. Seine ikonische Aufnahme von Maria Callas, eingefangen 1959 in Hamburg, zeigt die legendäre Operndiva stolz im Pelzmantel vor dem Hotel Atlantic – ein Bild, das seither als Inbegriff eleganter Künstlerfotografie gilt.
Mehr als nur Augenblicke festzuhalten, versteht Nürnberg sein Handwerk als visuelles Storytelling: Seine Schwarz-Weiß-Fotografie, gedruckt als Silbergelatine-Print auf Baryt, verleiht den Motiven Authentizität und Stil. 
Peter Nürnberg begann seine fotografische Karriere mit Aufnahmen roter Teppiche und Bühnenauftritten in Hamburg. Bereits ab 1958 porträtierte er internationale Stars wie Maria Callas, Sophia Loren, Marlene Dietrich und andere auf Festivals und Premieren – und entwickelte sich zu einem wichtigen Vertreter der Kunst- und Starfotografie.
