Vallauris ceramic decorative plate with relief lemons (France, mid-20th century)

Glazed ceramic wall plate made in Vallauris, France, circa 1950-1970.
Relief decoration of lemon tree branches with yellow fruit and green leaves on a dark brown glazed background.
Piece marked "Vallauris" on the back.
Equipped with a rear hook for wall hanging.

Made using hand-molded and hand-glazed ceramics, it is in very good vintage condition, with minor signs of use and a patina commensurate with age.

Notes: Vallauris, on the French Riviera, is famous for its pottery and artistic tradition, especially for having hosted great ceramists and also Picasso in the 1950s. These types of decorative plates are characteristic of post-war production, designed both for ornamental use and as souvenirs from the Mediterranean region.
