A revue is a form of amusement theater that consists of grandly staged dance, singing, and variety numbers, along with lighthearted comedic sketches.The genre originated in France at the end of the nineteenth century. In such a French revue, recent events from political and social life were brought back into focus with satirical songs and sketches. (The word revue is French for: viewed again.)
