Collectie van 30 exemplaren van het verzetsblad La Libre Belgique uit de jaren 1941-1944. De kranten hebben ouderdomssporen, vouwen en hier en daar scheuren, maar alles is compleet en verkeert in verzamelbare staat, de foto's maken deel uit van de beschrijving.

Het gaat om deze nummers: 15 (10 juli 1941), 16, 20, 22, 30, 32, 33, 41, 43, 48, 52, 54, 56, 57, 59, 60, 61, 62, 63, 66, 67, 68, 70, 71, 72, 73, 74, 75, 76 en 77 (15 februari 1944).  

La Libre Belgique-Nouvelle série de guerre, bij historici beter gekend als La Libre Belgique "Peter Pan" (het pseudoniem van een van de eerste opstellers) ontstond in Brussel in de zomer van 1940 in het kielzog van zijn beroemde voorganger van tijdens de Grote oorlog. Dit voormalig sluikblad uit een bepaald conservatief Brussels milieu en onder invloed van de familie Jourdain, poogde van 1915 tot 1918 het civisme van de Belgen een boost te geven en de Duitse bezetter in de maling te nemen. Zijn geestelijke erfgenamen wilden hetzelfde doen, maar aangepast aan de nieuwe omstandigheden en mogelijkheden die hun sociaal milieu hun bood.

La Libre Belgique dankte zijn ontstaan aan twee Brusselse katholieke advocaten, Robert Logelain ("Peter Pan") en Paul Struye ("Scipion l’Africain"). De eerste editie rolde van de persen van de Bank van Brussel, van de holding Brufina. Financiële en morele steun kwam van de katholieke, monarchistische en francofone bourgeoisie. Zij waren steunpilaren van de traditionele liberale samenleving, inclusief het parlementarisme. Flamingantisch Vlaanderen kwam in het sluikblad nooit aan bod.

Aanvankelijk verscheen La Libre Belgique maandelijks als stencil met een in 1940 bescheiden oplage van 1000 tot 3000 exemplaren. Die steeg vanaf de lente 1941 toen het blad echt gedrukt werd en zijn informatiekanalen en verspreiding groter werden. In april 1942 evolueerde het naar een tweemaandelijkse publicatie van vier tot acht bladzijden, soms met foto’s en karikaturen.
