Intrigante statuette Chamba du Nigeria. Le visage est captivant, il est comme flou, changeant et impalpable. Le nez est haut, les yeux sont globuleux, la bouche est entrouverte, les oreilles sont en avant. Le corps et allongé, fin et elegant. Les volumes sont schématisés, géométriques et anguleux. La sculpture et dynamique. Le personnage semble en attente, dans une position votive, les mains jointes. Qui implore-t-il? Pour quelle raison? C'est une oeuvre mystérieuse avec une présence spéciale.
La patine est superbe, une croute riche et complexe orange vif, abimé par endroits. On dirait une peau tanné. Belle patine ancienne. Quelques accidents visibles sur les photos, vendu en l'état. Une pièce de collection ancienne et authentique. Circa 1950.
