Tête de fétiche Vaudou, culture Ewe, Togo. H.34cm

Il est rare de trouver des objets de culte Vaudou alliant ainsi beauté et ancienneté. C’est un objet important qui a du voir et entendre de nombreuses choses. Il semble encore animé de toutes ces énergies qui ont transitées par lui et autour de lui. Les fétiches sont des réceptacles, ils accueillent les dieux et leurs servent d’intermédiaires. Cette ouvre est empreinte d’une force puissante et intemporel. Son regard est perçant, il semble en connexion direct avec les mondes invisibles où règnent les dieux Vaudou. La tête est recouverte d’une épaisse couche d’offrandes, beurre de karité, sang, alcool et autres substances. Une partie de la tête fut attaqué par des insectes xylophages, nous dévoilant un profil inattendu et chaotique. Des clous anciens, oxydés et patinés sont plantés dans son menton. Un objet de culte Vaudou ancien et authentique. Circa 1940.

Cette tête fut exposée en 2011 à la Galerie l’Atelier, Toulouse, France. Elle est reproduite dans le catalogue de l’exposition. Un exemplaire est fournit avec l'objet.
