OLIVE VARIETIES: Cordovil, Galega & Verdeal Alentejana.

EXTRACTION PROCESS
Extracted solely by mechanical processes, from Cordovil olives from Serpa, complemented with Galega, and with a touch of Verdeal Alentejana, produced on the Left Bank of the Guadiana, Azeite de Moura has personality, which comes from the balance between the strong sensations it offers to those who taste it.

TASTING NOTES
Notes of leafy green, reminiscent of the tomato plant, combined with a subtle hint of apple and notes of almond and dried fruit, framed by discreet sensations of bitterness and spiciness, give this olive oil a complex and harmonious profile, exclusive and distinctive.

SERVING
Ideal to finish dishes, whether salads, grilled meats and fish, or for desserts (pineapple, cheese and oil ice cream) and to eat with bread.

HISTORY
Protected Designation of Origin olive oil: Azeite de Moura, the oldest and most reputable denomination in Portugal.
Azeite de Moura DOP is the jewel in the crown of the Cooperativa Agrícola de Moura e Barrancos and is, in its own right, one of the most valuable pieces of national olive oil heritage.
Founded in 1954, the Cooperativa Agrícola de Moura e Barrancos emerged with the main mission of providing a competitive response to the extraction of olive oil from the olives produced by its founders.
To begin this process, a small press was purchased, which, over time, proved to be insufficient due to the growing number of new cooperators. As a result, it was necessary to expand by purchasing a new press with greater capacity.
In 1987, the Cooperative needed to increase its working capacity once again, making its third acquisition, this time from Sociedade dos Azeites de Moura, which at the time had a more modern mill with a milling capacity of around 230 tons of olives per day.
Subsequent investments transformed the Cooperative into the largest olive cooperative in the country, with the largest and most modern mill, with a daily milling capacity of 1,800 tons of olives.
This capacity allows for an average annual production of more than 6,000 tons of olives, from 2,200 hectares of olive groves, from 1,300 cooperators, transforming it into more than 7 million kilos of virgin olive oil each season.

Occasionally, two different bidders may show up in the bidding history with the same bid amount. This occurs when one user's bid is exactly the same as an automatic (maximum) bid placed by another user earlier. Since the auto-bid was placed first, this takes preference. The bidding history will show both bids, with the auto-bid ranked as the higher of the two.
