Ontroerende gepolychromeerde gipsen voorstelling van Maria die met tedere blik over het kind Jezus buigt, dat in een doek boven de kribbe ligt. Het beeld is een ontwerp van de Belgische priester en beeldhouwer August Nobels (1884–1938), bekend om zijn religieuze werken die eenvoud en devotie combineren met een verfijnde plastiek. De zachte modellering van het gelaat en de vloeiende plooien van het gewaad getuigen van zijn gevoel voor spiritualiteit en menselijke warmte.

Hoewel oorspronkelijk deel van een grotere kerstgroep, vormt dit beeld op zichzelf een volledig en harmonisch geheel.

Hoogte 32 cm. In goede, authentieke staat met duidelijke sporen van leeftijd en gebruik.
