L.M. Ericsson / KTAS Danish Telephone - Analogue telephone - Metal
Antique L.M. Ericsson / KTAS Danish Telephone – c.1905–1915.
A rare and beautifully preserved early 20th-century magneto telephone, manufactured by L.M. Ericsson of Sweden for Kjøbenhavns Telefon Aktieselskab (KTAS), the Copenhagen Telephone Company.
This elegant desk or wall-mounted telephone features a cream enamel finish with ornate gilt accents and a rotary-style dial adorned with a red crown emblem. The handset bears the inscription “Kjøbenhavns Aktieselskab”, denoting its Danish origin and use under KTAS.
A side crank handle remains intact, used to generate the signal for manual exchange operation — typical of the pre-automatic dialing era (circa 1905–1915). The combination of ivory and gold-tone metalwork, along with the decorative detailing, suggests this model was intended for a high-end home or executive office, rather than ordinary service use.
