De voorstelling en decoratie zijn typisch voor de Art Nouveau-periode (ca. 1890–1910): vloeiende lijnen, gestileerde figuren en een nadruk op ambacht. De afbeelding toont duidelijk ambachtslieden aan het werk (pottenbakkers of faience-makers), wat past bij de symboliek van vakmanschap die vaak gebruikt werd tijdens industriële en kunstnijverheidsbeurzen rond 1900.

Een paar kenmerken die dit bevestigen:
• De kleurstelling (goud, bruin, rood, blauw, crème) is typerend voor vitrified faience uit Maastricht.

• De samengestelde geometrie (met een centrale driehoek of A-vorm) en de gestileerde decoratie zoals de ontwerpen die rond 1900 werden gemaakt voor tentoonstellingen zoals de Exposition Universelle in Parijs (1900).

• De techniek, handbeschilderd onder glazuur, wat bij speciale edities of beurzen voorkwa

Blindmerk: dit type stempel werd gebruikt tussen ca. 1890 en 1910. De exacte datering hangt af van kleine details in de lettervorm en de plaatsing van het kader — dit merk heeft een iets latere stijl van het rechthoekige kader met duidelijke kapitalen, wat wijst op ca. 1895–1905.

• Maker: Petrus Regout & Co, Maastricht

• Periode: Rond 1900, speciaal ontworpen voor een faience- of kunstnijverheidsbeurs (de decoratieve stijl bevestigt dat).

• Techniek: Faience (aardewerk met tinglazuur), handbeschilderd onder glazuur.

• Stijl: Art Nouveau / overgang naar Art Deco (met geometrische motieven en ambachtslieden)
