Dit is een antieke, driepotige kookpot, mogelijk een "Dutch oven" of een vergelijkbare kookpot voor open vuur.
Het is een zware pot met dikke wanden, vaak gemaakt van gietijzer of aardewerk.
De drie poten maken het mogelijk om de pot direct in de sintels van een vuur te plaatsen.
De pot heeft twee handvatten en is gedeeltelijk bedekt met een rode en zwarte glazuur of verf.
De roodachtige kleur en de algemene vorm suggereren een mogelijke oorsprong uit de de vroege middeleeuwen of late middeleeuwen afhankelijk van de precieze herkomst
