Miriam Chiera - Vestiti. NO RESERVE. XXL

Vestiti In Vestiti, Chiera evokes the delicate thread between memory and imagination. The work recalls the childhood afternoons spent in her grandparents’ countryside home, where she and her cousins would play dress-up with her grandmother’s clothes. Those moments, simple yet luminous, become fragments of identity woven into the artist’s visual language. Through color and form, Vestiti reconstructs that tender confusion between play and nostalgia — where the garments of the past become symbols of transformation, affection, and belonging. Series: THE COUNTRYSIDE. The "Countryside" series is a series of paintings in progress, still unfinished, which the artist believes will continue to develop. The name of the series refers to the place where the artist was born and raised, the countryside of her parents and grandparents. The concept arose after the artist's decision to permanently move from Argentina to Italy. In this series, the work narrates the connection between our memory, nostalgic recollections, and our imagination, and how the two are mutually dependent. By processing the transience of childhood, Chiera explores a cognitive confusion, in which perceiving the future can be as vivid as how we remember it. Chiera's work builds itself as fragments of memories resurface, giving rise to a language of color arrangements and compositions. Familiar motifs such as windmills, cows, sunflowers, country roads, flowers, her grandparents' house, trees, and birds have a nostalgic resonance, recreating a narrative of the past in the present. The handcrafted qualities of the work explore a deeper perception of vitality and abundance, with the generative forces of nature emanating through the sporadic sampling of patterns among diverse materials. Natural cycles of growth are reflected in the work through variegated acrylic textures that evoke respect for honest labor and ingenuity. Chiera's work is a rich reflection of personal history and culture, encapsulated through a vision of everyday life. Artwork: New, original and unique artwork by Miriam Chiera. Biography: Miriam CHiera is an Italian-Argentine contemporary artist based in Senigallia, Italy. She studied Interior Design at the Faculty of Architecture of the Universidad Nacional del Litoral, Argentina, and also studied art at the Verona Academy of Art, Italy. She was born in a small town in Argentina, surrounded by vast expanses of countryside, to a family of Italian immigrant farmers. Although her roots are steeped in Italian culture, her art carries the spirit of the land where she grew up. Small marks and symbols are scattered across her canvases, interweaving cubism, constructivism and abstract geometry with the essence of her work: the language of color. Surrounded by the immensity of nature, with infinite horizons and a deep sense of freedom, she found inspiration in large-scale creations. Although she studied Interior Design at the Universidad Nacional del Litoral, her path to painting began in her early years, it was during her residency in the city of Romeo and Juliet, where she studied at the Accademia di Arte in Verona, when she realized that painting was her true calling. Miriam CHiera's works have been selected to be exhibited in international competitions, galleries, museums and events. 2017 – Selected for the Biennial of Fine Arts, Friends of Art, Ceres, Argentina. 2019 – XII Salvador Massa Regional Painting Salon, Argentina. 2019 – Finalist in the 3rd Painting Contest, 56th Anniversary Fundación 25 de Junio, Rosario, Argentina. 2019 – Selected for the 66th National Annual Exhibition of Arts, Ceres, Argentina. 2019 – Finalist at the XXIII Spring Hall, Museum of Visual Arts, Santa Fe, Argentina. 2019 – Finalist at the Regional Annual Exhibition of Artists, Museum H. Borla, Esperanza, Argentina. 2020 – Finalist at the XXIV Spring Hall, Municipal Museum of Visual Arts, Argentina. 2021 – Finalist at the XXVI Spring Hall, Santa Fe, Argentina. 2023 – Participant in the Chorlton Arts Festival, Manchester, United Kingdom. Her works are part of private collections around the world. Today she lives in Senigallia, Italy, after traveling through many cities: Milan, Verona, Ancona, Barcelona, Manchester, Buenos Aires, Rosario and her hometown, Ceres. Each place has left its mark on her art, shaping the vision and expression that flows through her work. Artist Statement: A work of art is far more than a fashionable object, a fleeting trend, or a decorative element designed to solve a spatial issue. I create paintings with the hope that they become a window through which you can tell yourself a story-where the art interacts with your life in a meaningful way. Each piece carries its own imprint, a soul, an energy that transforms it into a living presence within your space. My aspiration is for my art to move you, to evoke a desire to possess it, to immerse yourself in its essence, and to enjoy its company each morning as you stand before it.
