Up Závody - Jindrich Halabala - Lounge chair with ottoman (3) - H-530 - Beech, Fabric - Fully restored armchairs

This beautifully restored lounge set, designed by legendary Czech modernist Jindřich Halabala for UP Závody in the 1930s–40s, consists of two H-530 model armchairs and a rare H-230 tulip-shaped tabouret. An iconic representation of Central European Art Deco, the set features the designer’s signature sculptural bentwood arms and compact, elegant proportions. Both armchairs retain their original spring seat construction, now fully restored with new natural fiber (Afrik) stuffing for long-lasting comfort. The upholstery is a luxurious, pomegranate-colored Italian cotton canvas, carefully matched in tone and texture to the original 1940s fabric. Cream-colored decorative piping offers subtle contrast, emphasizing the striking curves of the design. The backs are finished with traditional hand-applied studding. The tulip tabouret echoes the upholstery motif, completing this visually harmonious set. Solid beechwood legs have been stained in a rich walnut tone and hand-oiled for a natural, smooth finish. Dimensions: Armchair (H-530): approx. H 82 × W 67 × D 78 cm Tabouret (H-230): approx. H 41 × Ø 35 cm Seat height: approx. 40 cm Each piece has undergone complete restoration, including structure, woodwork, and upholstery—faithful to the original while ready for modern use. A timeless classic from the golden era of Czechoslovak design—perfect for sophisticated interiors or collectors of Art Deco furniture.
