Teapot - Silverplated

Elegant Silver-Plated Teapot – EPBM, Made in England – Early 20th Century Charming English silver-plated teapot in elegant Edwardian style, made from Electro Plated Britannia Metal (EPBM). The body has a refined fluted oval shape and is beautifully hand-engraved with garlands, bows, and floral motifs, a typical design of early 20th-century English tableware. The hinged lid features a ribbed domed finial, and the elegantly curved handle complements the overall classical silhouette. A long, narrow spout ensures a smooth pour. Although unsigned by a specific maker, this piece clearly originates from one of the high-quality Sheffield or Birmingham workshops active around 1910–1920. Stamped underneath: EPBM (Electro Plated Britannia Metal), Made in England, and pattern number 4353. Good antique condition. Bright, well-preserved silver plating with normal surface wear and fine scratches consistent with age. No dents or major damage. Lid hinge works smoothly. “EPBM” stands for Electro Plated Britannia Metal, an English silver-plating technique using a fine-grade alloy base. This mark, together with “Made in England,” was common on high-quality but unbranded Sheffield or Birmingham pieces from the Edwardian and interwar eras (1910–1930). Carefully packaged and shipped with tracking and insurance.
