Deze kleurrijke litho getiteld “Friesland” is een werk van Corneille (1922–2010), een van de medeoprichters van de CoBrA-beweging (samen met o.a. Karel Appel en Constant). Zijn werk kenmerkt zich door levendige kleuren, speelse vormen en terugkerende thema’s als vogels, vrouwen en exotische landschappen.

Deze litho, gedrukt in 2004, is genummerd 167 van 200 exemplaren en verkeert in uitstekende staat. Het werk is nooit ingelijst geweest, waardoor de kleuren bijzonder fris zijn gebleven.

Corneille’s kunst blijft wereldwijd geliefd om haar expressieve stijl en optimistische uitstraling — Friesland is een mooi voorbeeld van zijn late, rijpe periode waarin kleur en fantasie centraal staan.
