Caballero medieval – Plata de ley 800

Alemania, posiblemente Hanau, finales del siglo XIX

Excepcional figura de caballero medieval realizada en plata de ley 800, de procedencia alemana, posiblemente vinculada a los talleres de Hanau, reconocidos por su refinada orfebrería de estilo historicista a finales del siglo XIX.

La escultura representa a un caballero de pie, con armadura completa grabada con ornamentación vegetal y roleos renacentistas. Porta una lanza con estandarte ondulante y un escudo, trabajados con un alto nivel de detalle y elegancia. La labor de cincelado y grabado muestra un dominio técnico notable, propio de la gran tradición germana en la platería artística.

Además de su función decorativa, la pieza presenta un pequeño compartimento oculto, lo que sugiere un posible uso como caja o cofrecillo secreto, una característica apreciada en la orfebrería europea del siglo XIX, donde arte y funcionalidad se combinaban armoniosamente.

En la base figuran contrastes de plata 800 y cuños parciales de taller, confirmando su autenticidad y su manufactura artesanal alemana.
