Marguerite attended six years of public classes at the Beaux-Arts in Nantes, where she perfected the art of portraiture.
"In my paintings, I seek to breathe life into them: to make wings beat, fur ruffle, hooves hammer, feel the wind... to give breath and movement. The animal is never frozen: it looks, crosses, inhabits the space."
My favorite themes are related to nature and the living. I explore ordinary and extraordinary wildlife, from the bird pecking under my window to the majestic feline encountered at the zoo. What interests me is revealing the beauty hidden in the details, the colors, the textures, which we only see by taking the time to observe. The golden background is a common thread: it elevates my subjects, gives them an almost sacred dimension, and invites us to look at the animal world with admiration and respect.
