Peter Svarrer werkt sinds 1982 met glas in zijn eigen atelier en maakte deel uit van verschillende glasateliers totdat hij in 1997 naar Holmegaards Glasværk kwam. Hier creëerde hij de bekende en functionele glasseries Cocoon, Future, Cabernet, Reflections, vazen, theelichthouders en ook individuele lampen.
Met de Cocoon-serie wilde Peter Svarrer een ​​vorm creëren die het licht zou reflecteren en vangen op een speciale manier zoals alleen glas dat kan. Het resultaat was een functionele allround vaas die ook zonder iets erin prachtig staat als glaskunstwerk op de boekenkast of op de grond. Het kostte hem drie jaar om de vorm van de eerste vaas uit de Cocoon-serie te ontwikkelen. Inmiddels is het een moderne klassieker geworden. De populaire serie is uitgebreid met vazen ​​in vele maten en schalen in transparante pastelkleuren. Ze zien er geweldig uit op zichzelf of gegroepeerd als decor voor de tafel of vensterbank.
