Raozhou Kiln Carved Decorated Qingbai Washer Diameter 13.3 cm, Height 2.5 cm Delicately potted with a shallow circular form, the interior finely carved with a scrolling floral motif beneath a transparent bluish glaze of exceptional clarity. The glaze gathers to a slightly deeper tone in the recesses, while the unglazed footrim shows a compact white body with traces of kiln grit — a hallmark of the Raozhou kilns. A representative work of the Raozhou kilns within the Jingdezhen qingbai tradition, this washer exemplifies the refined elegance prized by Southern Song scholars.
