This is a very special treat. Ricoh's very first digital camera, here as the updated DC-1S version which was only marketed in Japan and unavailable elsewhere in the world. Not only that but it comes in it's original retail box with ALL the accessoires and their original retail boxes! It even has the retail boxes for the rare rechargeable batteries! So it CANNOT GET BETTER then this set. The beautiful slim DC-1S is a standalone digital camera where a separate monitor can be attached. Be aware that the external monitor is only a playback monitor and does not double as a viewinder. The camera has it's own optical viewfinder. To keep the camera so extremely slim and flat Ricoh used very special rechargeable batteries, the so-called "Bubble Gum Batteries". Of course the ones included here have long gone dead. But I read that some third party companies still offer these. Oh yes, the camera and monitor required a total of 9 such flat batteries :-D The camera itself is in a clean condition, the battery compartment is totally clean. The monitor has two small circles on the screen which are superficial only. The battery compartment there is clean too. When attached to the included power supply, the camera and monitor light up and photos can be taken and played back (see photos).
