Ancient Egyptian Faience Grape Cluster Amulet
Circa 1550-1292 BC (New Kingdom, 18th Dynasty)
This lovely faience amulet is moulded in the form of a grape cluster. The surface is formed of raised nodules in regular rows, imitating a bunch of tightly packed grapes.
Such amulets symbolised fertility and abundance and may have been placed among funerary goods.
Dimensions: 2,5cm x 1cm x 1cm
Provenance: Private European Collection; formerly acquired from old UK and European collection formed since the 1970s.
