Sony - CRX10U CD player

Package Contents: - CRX10U CD6RW drive with multilingual user guide - CRX Series Software Tools - Blank Media - AC adapter and power cord - USB cable - Rechargeable battery - Wired remote control and headphones Given its size and features, it's clear that the CRX10U-RP is primarily an external burner rather than a simple portable CD/MP3 player. It is much larger (132x25x139 cm) than the Philips Expanium or the SONICblue RioVolt, for example. It has a fairly understated, classic look and weighs 435 grams (with battery), which is reasonable for carrying it in a bag, for example. In terms of burning performance, the CRX10U-RP is one of the best USB 1.1 external burners available. It burns CD-Rs and CD-RWs at 4X (600 kB/s) and reads CDs at 6X (900 kB/s), which are the maximum speeds allowed with this interface. It does not have any burn-proof features, but it does have 8 MB of cache, which also serves as a buffer for reading audio CDs and MP3s. In terms of functionality, the CRX10U-RP is relatively simple and almost complete. It supports DAO-RAW, TAO, packet writing, and multisession writing. However, it does not support overburning. The CRX10U-RP is not only an external burner but also a portable CD player capable of playing both audio CDs and CDs containing MP3s. It accepts directory structures, which are read transparently during use. 74- and 80-minute CD-Rs and CD-RWs (non-UDF formatted) are supported. It accepts MP3 files from 32 to 320 kbps at constant and variable bit rates. The wired remote control is a model of its kind, as it incorporates a small one-line LCD screen capable of displaying multiple information such as ID3 Tags or CD Text information from audio CDs. It has all the buttons related to playback, such as Play, Forward, Backward, Hold, and Pause. Of course, there is a volume control with a level display on the screen, as well as a Mode button that switches between single playback, repeat playback, and random mode. Finally, the display button allows you to switch between different types of information displays for the current track. There are also a few controls on the drive/burner itself: a volume knob, a Charge/Off/On switch, and a switch to activate the AVLS sound level limit. The CRX10U-RP comes with a fairly substantial bundle that includes the following software: Win On CD, Direct CD, PhotoBase, PhotoStudio, Video Impression, WaveLab, and DataKeeper. The box also includes a manual, a blank CD-R, and a pair of Sony earbuds.
