A full-size violin bearing the label Egidius Kloz, Steinsburg, Anno 1718, crafted in the Central European tradition and echoing the fine proportions and warm character of the Mittenwald school. The instrument combines aged patina with expressive tonal depth and classic 18th-century modeling.

2. Historical and Artistic Context
The label refers to Egidius (Aegidius) Kloz, a member of the renowned Klotz family of Mittenwald, active in the 18th century. This violin is a later homage to that lineage—likely produced in the late 19th or early 20th century—faithfully reflecting the stylistic features of the original Kloz models, including their graceful arching and rich amber varnish.

3. Craftsmanship and Materials
Constructed with a two-piece flamed maple back, matching ribs, and a fine-grained spruce top. The deep brown-orange varnish shows authentic age patina, gently worn on the edges, and finished with subtle transparency. Ebony fittings throughout, including chinrest and pegs.

4. Tonal Character and Playability
The violin offers a warm, resonant sound with excellent projection, clear high register, and rounded lower tones. It speaks easily and evenly across all strings—ideal for both advanced students and chamber musicians seeking a mature, expressive tone.

No visible damage or open seams.
Original bridge in functional condition; soundpost properly fitted and stable.
