Bottled: 2014 (so roughly 23–24 years old)
Release: “2nd Release” — Balblair often reissued the same vintage after additional years of cask maturation. 
This second release was matured in ex-bourbon casks and Spanish ex-sherry butts, giving a beautiful balance between bright tropical fruit and deep sherry richness.  This vintage is known for its depth and maturity — classic Highland fruitiness layered with sherry and oak complexity. It’s considered one of Balblair’s best vintages of the early 1990s. Compared to the 1st Release (bottled 2010, around 20 years old), the 2nd Release is richer, darker, and more sherried, thanks to extra years in cask and a higher proportion of sherry wood.

Highly rated (typically 89–91 points on Whiskybase and similar sites).
Praised for its luxurious texture, balance, and tropical-sherry interplay.
Considered a standout example of Balblair’s “vintage” era before the brand switched to age-stated releases in 2019.
