You are bidding on a very fine and rare 4/4 violin after Stradivari, labeled Gajetanus Sgarabotto Vicentinus fecit Parmae anno Domini 1900. The instrument is in ready to play condition with some small repaired cracks on top. The violin has an excellent straight high to medium grained spruce of the top and one piece back of softly flamed maple with matched sides and scroll. The purfling is professionally executed and the edges are masterfully done. The violin is ready to pay with new ebony pegs, old master made bridge and new strings. The whole length of the violin is 595 mm and the back 360 mm. The width of the upper bouts: 164 mm; middle bouts: 114 mm; lower bouts: 205 mm. The sound of this instrument is of a charming character, rich, warm, sweet and beautiful colors, depth and great carrying power. Insured shipping worldwide!
