Dans Thinking My Home, Nara déploie un motif récurrent, celui de la maison ou du foyer, pour explorer des thèmes d’identité, d’appartenance et de mémoire. L’œuvre traduit ce que l’artiste lui-même appelle « la maison » non seulement comme lieu physique mais comme espace mental, émotionnel et mémoriel. 

La figure centrale, souvent enfantine, regarde ou médite sur un fond minimaliste, ce qui crée un vide autour d’elle : ce vide accentue la solitude, la nostalgie, voire l’interrogation existentielle. Le titre suggère une pensée portée vers le foyer (« My Home ») : ce qui évoque une réflexion sur son passé, sur ses racines, sur le rapport au « chez soi » qui change, qui se perd ou se transforme.
