Alessi - Michele De Lucchi - Kitchen container - Plissé - Thermoplastic resin - Toaster

This Plissé toaster was designed by Michele De Lucchi. The plissé is a highly iconic form that De Lucchi has taken for its cheerful and festive spirit. It comes from the fashions of the 50s and 60s when pleated skirts created stunning effects of floaty and frothy fabrics, but the plissé is still a very contemporary sign today. Objects, like pieces of furniture, do not only work when they are in use, but they also work as presences lling space. He states that ''objects have to have a formal, aesthetic and symbolic meaning as well as being highly evocative, even when they are not being used''. The design chosen by the author that features a pleated surface offers ample reason why this toaster is a real eye-catcher on any kitchen work surface. The two tongs have grips made from thermoplastic resin which match the colour of the toaster shell; they allow slices of bread to be easily inserted into and removed from the toaster and meanwhile contribute to design of the toaster as a whole. This toaster is in new and unused condition. Delivered with original packaging and documents Further specifications: - Six browning settings. - Bagel, defrost and quick function. - Reheat functions. - Backlit controls. - European plug (850W). Please read the manual before using the device. Michele De Lucchi: De Lucchi was born in 1951 in Ferrara and graduated in architecture from Florence. By the time he was a prominent member in the Gruppo Cavart, Studio Alchimia and Memphis movement towards more radical and experimental architecture. He has designed and restored buildings all over the world, for example in Japan for NTT, in Germany for Deutsche Bank, in Switzerland for Novartis, and in Italy for Enel, Olivetti, Piaggio, Poste Italiane and Telecom Italia. De Lucchi designed for the most prestigious brands like Artemide, Olivetti, Alias, Unifor and Hermès.
