Description from the seller

Stunning French antique jewelry box from the Napoleonic era - Second Empire. Made of wood in the shape of a small chest or case, using cedar, darkened pear wood, and rosewood. Inlaid with brass and mother-of-pearl. The interior is padded with fabric, while the lid has retained its original beige silk padding. It features a key lock (the key is broken), and a pedestal base. The inlay design is very well preserved, which is rare; it has not suffered any damage or restorations.
Measurements: height 8.5 cm, length 19 cm, width 13 cm, base 19.5 x 13.5 cm.
Superb example of great high-quality French craftsmanship.
It is in good condition, considering its age and use. On three corners of the lid, there are spots where the fine veneer has peeled off (see photos). Restoration is possible if desired, but overall, this does not compromise the rarity and beauty of the antique box.
Insured and traceable shipping.
