Impressionante set di posate in argento di Mappin & Webb, rinomata manifattura britannica fondata nel 1775.
Presentato nel suo contenitore originale a due cassetti, foderato con feltro verde e recante la targhetta incisa: "Mappin & Webb - Londra e Sheffield - Agente: Boyes Bassett & Co., Shanghai".

Il set comprende un vasto assortimento di pezzi da tavola, da dessert e da portata per dodici persone (più di 100 pezzi), insieme a vari utensili da portata. Ogni pezzo presenta una raffinata decorazione incisa con bordi perlinati e foderati, tipica del gusto neoclassico inglese.

L'insieme è in condizioni generali molto buone, con leggeri segni d'uso coerenti con l'età, e conserva la scatola di montaggio.
Un ottimo esempio della maestria di Mappin & Webb e dell'eleganza dell'argento da tavola britannico del primo Novecento.
