Theropod - 51cm - Fossilised animal - Anchiornithidae - 53 cm - 30 cm
Anchiornithidae is a family of small, feathered dinosaurs that lived during the Late Jurassic period. Their forelimbs, hindlimbs, and tails were all covered with long feathers, and some species even exhibited a “four-winged” structure, possibly used for gliding or balance. This makes them highly significant for understanding how dinosaurs evolved into modern birds.
What makes this specimen unique is its open-mouthed posture, reminiscent of the Jurassic Park logo, along with its well-articulated and lifelike pose. The bones are dark, well-mineralized, and the arrangement of the teeth is clearly visible. Each tooth remains very sharp and still reflects light.
The specimen includes a X-ray image to verify that it is entirely original and unaltered. These tiny bones, teeth, and claws have been perfectly preserved for tens of millions of years, showing impressive variations in color. With careful preparation and the preservation of natural bone material, this is undoubtedly a collectible-quality specimen.
While the bottom of the matrix was damaged during transport, the fossil itself remains completely intact. Before shipment, I will reinforce the back of the matrix with a piece of wood and carefully package it to ensure its safety.
I sincerely recommend this to every collector with a strong passion and interest in dinosaurs.
