Elegante e rara caixa de chá inglesa do período Vitoriano médio (c. 1840–1870), finamente trabalhada em madeira limoeira (lemonwood), conhecida pelo seu tom claro e textura delicada.

Apresenta marchetaria decorativa de excelente execução, com inscrição “Thé” na tampa — influência da moda francesa da época, que simbolizava sofisticação e bom gosto.



O interior conserva as duas tampas originais, usadas para armazenar diferentes tipos de chá, e a fechadura com moldura em marchetaria no exterior. A forma ligeiramente abaulada (serpentine) e o acabamento acetinado realçam a beleza natural da madeira e o trabalho artesanal típico das oficinas inglesas do século XIX.

Estado de conservação: Muito bom para a idade, com ligeiros sinais do tempo; marchetaria bem preservada; fecho decorativo original.
