Fossil teeth - Set of 3 Nicely Preserved Majungasaurus crenatissimus Abelisaurid Dinosaur Teeth (No Reserve Price)

Scientific name: † Majungasaurus crenatissimus (Depéret, 1896) - family Abelisauridae Location: Berivotra village near the northwestern coast of Madagascar Geological Formation: Maevarano Formation, Madagascar’s Mahajanga Basin Age: Upper Cretaceous, Maastrichtian stage, (~70 Million Years) Size (the biggest): 2,04 cm Ref: S161 Observations: Nicely preserved specimens. Not restored or glued. Great strong carina (serrations). Nice collector set. Beautiful enamel color on all of them. Majungasaurus was a medium-sized theropod dinosaur predator, living at the end of the Cretaceous period, was one of the last dinosaurs to roam the earth. The geological group where this tooth was found, the Maevarano Formation, located in northwestern Madagascar’s Mahajanga Basin, is a Late Cretaceous geological unit known for its fluvial and floodplain deposits. Formed in a semi-arid, seasonal climate, it preserves a rich fossil record, including the theropod Majungasaurus, sauropod Rapetosaurus, crocodyliforms, and early birds. Its significance lies in revealing a diverse Gondwanan ecosystem just before the K-Pg extinction, with Majungasaurus fossils showing evidence of cannibalism. All our fossils come with Certificate of Authenticity. Every week, the issued Certificates of Authenticity are updated in our website database verification system. If you find that your certificate has not yet been updated, please contact us and we will update it immediately. Display box included. IMPORTANT SHIPPING INFORMATION: All items with value between 15 and 800 Euros are now impossible to get them shipped to USA due to the new negulataions of the USA customs administration.
