Messing strijkbout met bijpassend warmte-ornament – ca. 1900 – Frankrijk


Omschrijving

Zeer decoratieve antieke messing strijkbout met het originele warmte-ornament / houder eronder.
Dit type werd gebruikt rond 1880–1910, toen strijkbouten nog met een gloeiende kool of metalen kern werden verwarmd. De messing houder beschermde het tafelblad en hield de warmte vast tussen twee strijkbeurten.

Deze set is volledig van massief messing, mooi verouderd met een warme patina. Zowel de bout als het onderstuk zijn stevig en in goede werk- en presentatiestaat.
Een fraai stuk huishoud- en ambachtshistorie, maar ook een prachtige decoratie voor klassieke interieurs, winkels of vintage-collecties.
