Flippo's waren kleine, ronde plastic of kartonnen schijfjes die in de jaren negentig (vanaf 1995) gratis bij de chips van fabrikant Smiths zaten. Ze werden een enorme rage in Nederland en daarbuiten. 
Geschiedenis en Gebruik
Introductie: De eerste flippo's werden op 8 april 1995 in Nederland in de zakken chips gestopt door de chipsfabrikant Smiths Food Group.
De Rage: Er ontstond een massale rage waarbij kinderen de schijfjes verzamelden, ruilden en er spelletjes mee speelden. Door deze actie werd er veel meer chips verkocht dan normaal.
Ontwerper: Het idee voor de flippo's is afkomstig van de Nederlander Hans Zandvliet.
Inhoud: De flippo's waren vaak bedrukt met figuren uit bekende tekenfilms, zoals de Looney Tunes (Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, etc.) en Chester Cheetah, de mascotte van Cheetos. 
Huidige Status
Tegenwoordig worden er geen flippo's meer standaard in zakken chips geleverd. Er zijn echter wel incidentele comeback-acties geweest, bijvoorbeeld rond grote sportevenementen. De originele flippo's hebben nu vooral een nostalgische waarde en complete collecties worden soms online aangeboden voor aanzienlijke bedragen.
